It looks like 2013 is shaping up to be a terrific year for Tom, as he claims his third Ginetta Championship title at Silverstone, ahead of Pepe Massot and Rob Boston lying in respective second and third place when the lights went out. The Michelin Ginetta GT SuperCup race saw some great racing throughout the entire grid.

This talented young driver has “realised a dream” and is now in possession of the coveted crown of the fiercely contested Michelin Ginetta GT SuperCup and at the envy of all of his competitors. This season has seen Ingram win 10 races and a string of podium finishes, mounting up to 22 to be exact, as he added the Ginetta GT SuperCup laurels to the Ginetta G50 Championship, Ginetta Junior Championship and British Karting Championship that he had already one.

Pepe Massot briefly threatened Tom’s winning position, hunting down the race leader, but Tom was quick to defend his place, and pulled out one second over the Spaniard. Tom said “I knew realistically that I only needed to finish eighth, but all along, I’ve been saying I wanted to secure it with a victory – and that’s exactly what I did.”

He also added “As people know, we’ve never been in the fortunate situation of being able to rely upon family money, and I can’t thank my sponsors – especially SKYCIG, KX and Hansford Sensors – enough either, because without their unstinting support, we simply wouldn’t have been out there racing. I can never repay the faith they have shown in me.”

“I predicted at the beginning of the sponsorship Tom would be very good indeed and now he’s proved himself a champion at yet another level of motor racing,” said Chris Hansford, Managing Director, Hansford Sensors.  “I’m delighted that he has achieved so much so soon in his career and I’m proud that Hansford Sensors has played a part in it.”

Despite seizing a strong victory at the weekend, Tom isn’t satisfied just yet, as his next goal is to surpass his 2012 rival Sharp’s record.
