Export growth drives UK manufacturing growth for Hansford Sensors

A rapid increase in export orders is driving continued expansion at Hansford Sensors, the leading manufacturer of high performance industrial vibration sensors and systems. The company’s overseas sales are growing at over 20% year on year, leading to a further increase in the company’s production facilities at its UK headquarters in High Wycombe.

Hansford Sensors recently celebrated its tenth anniversary with a record year, with revenues and production volumes reaching an all-time high. Managing Director, Chris Hansford, explains that, “In recent years – and certainly since the Brexit referendum – we have devoted considerable time and effort to developing our export business. We now have a network of sales partners around the world, including wholly or partly owned subsidiaries in America, India, Germany, Central and Eastern Europe, and Australia. As a result, our export sales have grown dramatically, and now account for over 85% of our business.”

This rapid growth has led to the expansion of the company’s production facilities, with the sales and administration offices being relocated to a new build area and the space converted to production areas. These include extended test and development, quality control and assembly departments, totalling an additional 2,000 square feet of space.

Chris Hansford adds, “The expansion will ensure that we continue to offer a high level of customer support, while enabling us to ramp up production volumes still further. We’re also planning to increase our UK workforce still further, with the recruitment of additional engineering and sales support staff, and plan to increase our investment in the North American market to ensure that we can supply our most popular products from stock to meet the growing demand for advanced, high quality industrial accelerometers”.
