Accustom to customising
Channel 4 recently screened a fascinating programme explaining the inner workings and processes of Rolls Royce Motor Cars.
Aside from the extraordinary sums of money and glitz that everybody associates with a Rolls Royce car, there were also fascinating insights into the meticulous quality control processes in operation at the RR Goodwood Factory.
Apart from exacting standards, a main driver for such quality control is the high demand for custom features within the cars, with around 95% of cars sold being personalised in some way.
This demand for personalisation and customisation is something that can be seen across many different markets. Indeed, it can be argued that the advent of low cost 3D printing is leading the way towards the ultimate form of customisation.
With growth steadily coming back to the UK manufacturing sectors, and with exports on the rise (90% of Rolls Royce cars are sold in export markets), the need for increased production flexibility to meet specific customer demands is more important than ever.
At Hansford Sensors, we’ve always worked closely with our customers to provide a wide range of product choices and, where required, to customise and white label our industrial vibration sensors.
In many respects, we’ve been ahead of the curve in this area, and this has been a major factor in our success. This is especially true in export markets where with the support of our Sales Partners we’ve gone from strength to strength in recent years.
